The Alexander 9" copper pepper mill is a solid copper mill handmade in Thessaloniki, Greece, featuring an all-metal 38 mm 3DCut grinding mechanism that cracks, cuts, and grinds each peppercorn instead of crushing it.

Handcrafted by Alexander’s family workshop—producing authentic mills in Thessaloniki since 1977—this mill offers a warmer, rosier tone than traditional brass. Finished with plain polished copper and zero lacquer, the exterior slowly deepens into a rich, dark brown patina over time, or can easily be polished back to its original bright sheen.

Usage Guidelines:

• Suitable for whole peppercorns and dry spices.
• Do not use for salt. Salt will corrode the steel grinding mechanism.
• To adjust the grind, turn the screw underneath the mechanism a little at a time until you achieve your preferred coarseness.

Care & Maintenance:

• Never wash or submerge: Do not submerge in water or place in the dishwasher.
• Cleaning: Brush out any residual spice debris and wipe the exterior dry with a clean cloth at each refill.
• Copper Finish Care: The unlacquered copper will naturally darken into a deep patina. To restore the bright copper shine, apply a standard copper cleaner with a soft cloth.

Q: Will the copper change color over time?

A: Yes. Because the copper is unlacquered, it will naturally darken slowly into a rich patina. This oxidation is completely normal, and you can polish it back to a bright shine whenever you like using a copper cleaner.

Q: Is the copper mill different inside compared to the brass mill?

A: No. It features the exact same all-metal 38 mm 3DCut tool steel mechanism as the brass model; only the exterior body metal is different.

Q: Can I grind salt in this copper mill?

A: No. Salt causes the steel mechanism to corrode. For salt, please use the Alexander Copper Salt Mill, which is designed with a corrosion-proof mechanism.
